Hackers are more dangerous than terrorism
Recently, in a rare open hearing of the Senate Intelligence Committee, FBI head Robert Mueller said spies and criminals are beyond terrorism to become a major threat one for the United States.
"Preventing terrorism is still the number one priority. But in the near future, the threat of cyberspace will be the top concern for the country ", the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI Robert Mueller warned the U.S. Congress in its meeting on 6-2.
Only a few days ago, the FBI had been humiliated when anonymous group of hackers spread secretly recording calls for 16 minutes between the FBI and British police, in which agents are discussing the introduction of two hackers Anonymous and LulzSec group was arrested in 2011 in court.
Also in an event at Francisco in 2009, Mr. Robert Mueller revealed his nearly became a victim of online fraud (phishing). Imposter had sent him a fake email identical content from a bank account that he has. Just add a few mouse clicks, the FBI will be the most powerful trap.
The U.S. Congress has turned its attention to security problems before network frequency increasing destructive hackers. 1-2, the Committee of Homeland Security is drafting a Law on cyber security. The Senate is also considering a new bill last month.
Specifically, two legal instruments of the Committee on Homeland Security and the Senate will focus on the victims of hackers. The company will be punished if not seek to reinforce the security of the system.
Ironically, a recent report by the Ponemon (a research organization to protect the privacy and data security) have shown the site of the new public authorities are often victims of hackers and spies network.
According to Time magazine, U.S. House of Representatives is considering making another measure to ensure the safety information on the Internet that is easier for businesses and public authorities. Under the auspices of the Organization National Information Sharing (NISO), businesses and organizations to share information (about the attacks) for the purpose of protecting network security, they will be exempt from the application the privacy regulations.
Despite two "innovations" of the Senate and the House, U.S. President called for a move from the federal government. How to resolve conflicts in the lower house and upper house will also cause "headaches" for the U.S. Congress in the near future.
