New York Times newspaper online charging
Quarter net profit fell by 58% but the New York Times newspaper is optimistic with hundreds of thousands of subscribers to pay to read newspapers.
Yesterday, the New York Times said that after only 3 weeks since start charging newspaper, has more than 100,000 subscribers pay to see information from this online newspaper.
Last month caused a stir when they announced the decision will charge access to the article on this newspaper. Accordingly, readers only read 20 free articles per month, exceeding this limit will be paid for registration to be read. Leadership at that aims to attract 300,000 subscribers this year.
New York Times newspapers to charge online readers in the business context is not as desired. "Advertising industry facing huge pressure in the first quarter of this year," Times Co chairman of the company. CEO Janet Robinson said.
