Russian Foreign Minister to Syria
On 7.2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Director of External Intelligence Mikhail Fradkov arrived the Syrian capital Damascus for talks with President Bashar al-Assad on the crisis in the country.
After the meeting, Lavrov said he al-Assad has pledged to quickly end the bloodshed and democratic reforms. "President al-Assad said he would soon conduct a referendum on drafting a new constitution for Syria. Russia will continue to support rapid end to uncertainty, "AFP quoted Lavrov said.
