Smartphones help avoid stress
Like psychologists, smart mobile phone will warn users when they fall prey to depression and advised them to meet friends to relieve bad mood.
"We are studying new ways technology can help people with problems of mental health care. The potential of technology in reducing or even preventing depression in humans is very big, "LiveScience quoted David Mohr, a medical specialist of Northwestern University in the U.S..
Some smart phones are now equipped to 35-40 sensors, multiple sensors which can monitor daily activities of users. For example, the phone can use the global positioning and contacts to identify the owners are at work, home or your home; speed measuring device used to see the owner driving how fast; count email, phone call to assess the employer's ad delivery.Photo:Photo: pixdaus.com.
By analyzing behavior, a software for smart mobile phones in the future - called Mobilyze! - Can assess the user's mood. If the software is concluded owners feel lonely, the phone will suggest that you visit somewhere or gather with friends.
"By urging people perform acts of feeling happy or excited, we believe Mobilyze! will help ward off the phone using a negative mood. With its cost of treating depression syndrome, depression will be much lower than many traditional therapies, "said Mohr.
In a trial lasting 8 weeks for seven adult depressive syndrome in 2011, Mohr and colleagues found Mobilyze! reducing depression levels of all study subjects. Group participants also confirmed test software that helps them to recognize and adjust their thoughts and behaviors cause negative mood.
The team is trying to create software version Mobilyze! for mobile devices using the Android operating system.
"Since March we will begin testing with the device software operating system Android. We expect large-scale testing in practice will take place at a certain time in the summer of this year, "Mohr said.
